Six different draws were held in February, showing significant national and regional requirements. Two draws were general, two aimed at healthcare and agricultural occupations, and two targeted French language proficiency to motivate Francophone immigration.
March extended the commitment to cultural and linguistic diversity by providing four draws that reflected general and specialized needs: two general, one for the transport profession to address sector shortages, and another for French competence.
Draws in the Second Quarter of 2024
The following months further indicated IRCC’s strategic diversity, creating dynamic patterns in the first quarter of 2024.
Two general draws and targeted ones for STEM occupations and French language skills occurred in April to address particular skill shortages and improve Francophone immigration.
Early in May, there were no draws, but there were two big draws at the end of the month, marking an unexpected return to action. The first one since September 2021 was for the Canadian Experience Class, which addressed people with prior work experience in Canada. Specifically personalized to regional labor requirements, this was the initial Provincial Nominee Program draw since October 2023. Draws in the Fourth Quarter of 2024
Draws are still continuing, and the fourth quarter of 2024 has begun officially. In October, there were six draw predictions: two for the Canadian Experience Class, two for the Provincial Nominee Program, one for French Language Proficiency, and one for Trade Occupations.
